YES! Despite this N.Arlington is still under-aided by $1186 PER STUDENT, and Lyndhurst by $447 PER STUDENT. Federal fund distribution must be used to help our neediest learners and cannot be Adjustment Aid 2.0. @NJSenatePres

In Chesterfield, this meant a second counselor to assist with over 700 students. In Kingsway, it meant more special ed teachers to ensure compliance. In many communities it meant finally compensating their educators what they deserve!

By making greater fiscal efforts to fund our schools, we have been able to assist in the hiring of more needed staff, made smaller class sizes possible, and ensured competitive wages for our educators. 1/2

S2 restores the SFRA to what it was intended to be before the political "deal" of adjustment aid: A unitary school funding formula that, in combination with local contribution, allows for every child to receive the thorough and efficient education to which they are entitled.

Over the past decade, New Jersey has been on the path backwards in terms of #schoolfunding. However, our efforts to correct the #schoolfunding formula remedied this course and today we are seeing this come to fruition. 1/2

In layman’s terms: There is no money tree.
Even if there was, it’s neither fair nor equitable for these districts to keep $ for students no longer enrolled in their district to avoid contributing towards public education in their communities.
