I was open to Cucurella due to his top-notch "cog" profile. Barcelona is a team filled with build-up and possessional masters, so having Cucurella could help augment them with steel/support. However, for a team as transitional as Real Madrid, it's laughable. He won't do very much.

The reason why the LW enhances Raphinha's floor is that the outside angles simplify his decision-making and take advantage of his PnP and ballstriking. For a player already limited by his angle bias and lack of agility, RW gives him "options" that are difficult for him to access.

Replying to @FalseTenn
Raphinha was tasked to adapt to LW due to his direct football. - Left foot dominant side β†’ clearer outside angles - Encourages direct runs, cutbacks, and driven shots - Mental and physical fortitude makes him decisive While a simpler role, he executes with power and precision.

I'll be eagerly waiting for Fati's homecoming. Thank goodness the board delayed the deal for this crucial piece of business.

Pedri, Rodri and Fabian are Spain's best bet in midfield to start out games. Rodri as the traditional JDP 6, along with his (not so) hidden goal threay, Pedri as the creative/chaotic spark and Fabian for his technical capacity in both boxes. Balance on and off the ball. πŸ”‘

If they want to go for broke and need a complete midfield refresh, they can have similar technical profiles with different positional occupations and temporal tendencies. Zubimendi: Traditional JDP 6 Gavi: DLP and B2B structure setting Olmo: Zone 14 creative spark

If the opposition sit in a deep block and they can only whip in crosses, bring on the box killer.

With Pedri regaining prominence in the Spanish NT as De La Fuente looks to commit to a balanced 433, it's likely that Olmo will be pushed onto the bench as a maverick/supersub option. I hope for that to be the exact role Olmo will have next season for Barcelona. I cannot trust Olmo to be a consistent starter for the big games due to the mismatch of his overly aggressive tempo and weak physiclity. However, I will trust him for many Laliga and Copa Del Rey matches, and as a UCL supersub. In terms of making a special difference in the final 3rd, Olmo's up there. Hide weaknesses, play to strengths.

99.9% they'll have the biggest meltdown in the history of club football. On the 0.01% chance they succeed, I'd have to give the biggest credit to Mourinho. Let's have some fun, Real.

However, Kane lacks the explosive power and/or athleticism of the most dominant Pivots, limiting his ability to consistently impose himself physically against elite defenders. Kane's lack of mobility also limits his ability to consistently create advantages as an Anchor through carrying, dribbling, or repeated relocations.

All this to say, the futsal framework highlights that footballers are more than their listed position. Every player combines elements of structuring play, creating advantages, and providing end-product to varying degrees. Understanding those blends offers a more complete picture of who they are and how they impact the game.
