The Universal Basic Income idea has been resisted by several eggheads who think it's too imaginary and unrealistic until the Corona crisis.
Now the changing dynamics of geopolitics, rising unemployment and inequalities are fueling the sentiments and baises of the critics.

Universal Basic Income would work so much better than our existing means-tested welfare systems.
Government should implement #UBI in conjunction with universal basic services like healthcare, children’s education, public safety and water/energy infrastructure.

You can do everything right and still become disabled. You can eat right, exercise, take vitamins, get sun, and still become disabled. No one is immune to disability. We’re all vulnerable. The sooner you acknowledge that, the sooner you’ll realize accessibility benefits everyone.

Unfortunately, these are unfolding realities on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria where the govt once enforced its law which forbids children from street-begging to feed the families. It's sad to see the children on Yaba bridge, ogunlana and elsewhere begging again to keep the afloat
