Naoki Hamaguchi says the FF7 character that stands out the most to him is Cloud!
He says he has been working on the FF7 Remake Project for 8 or 9 years and so has spent a lot of time with Cloud. He says there probably hasn’t been a day that he hasn’t seen him and that he feels like family at this point!

Technically, Cloud is Sephiroth’s nemesis but Sephiroth can control him making him kinda useless against Sephiroth.
for Sephiroth to win he needs 100% full control of Cloud but he can’t unless he kills what’s keeping Cloud sane, which is Tifa(tries to kill her in rebirth)
