Im a self-taught robotics engineer who has also worked on rockets, jet engines and drones throughout his aerospace degree in his spare time. Now ive cofounded a robotics company in London, Paddington Robotics. ROBOTICS JOURNEYMEN. LET ME IN.

We have raised a $110 billion round of funding from Amazon, NVIDIA, and SoftBank. We are grateful for the support from our partners, and have a lot of work to do to bring you the tools you deserve.

wtf would you use this connector for 240V mains AC to 5.5mm DC barrel jack

Ah so thats what happens when I 12 speed beacon my copper wire crafter
Our CNC machine has now clocked a speed of 1304 pieces/minute!! That’s more than 21 springs in a second! A 30% increase in speed over our previous record. We achieved this feat without a thorough redesign of the entire machine. All springs you see here are in the tolerance of /- 0.1 mm It was already the fastest in the country. We just dialled it up a notch. This is now one of the fastest CNC spring coiler in the world, if not the fastest. Investing in R&D pays. Designed and built in Bharat 🇮🇳

funny thing is, that humanoid is probably cheaper than that snow plough robot that you will only use for one task for a few weeks of the year

As expected, the aliexpress special buck/boost converter sucks for dynamic loads. Heres it connected to a PC. Drops all the way down to 4.142v...
Aliexpress DC/DC converter getting too🔥🔥? Flip the mosfets around and heatsink them directly to the robot chassis

After playing factorio, ive started to use the silkscreen to draw borders around each section of a schematic and it makes PCBs so much more readable. U guys should try it. w silkscreen borders no borders

DAY 6 7 8: I LAUNCHED THE ROCKET! Here's my final base, with each science section highlighted. Funny how small the first three sciences are compared to the rest of them. In the end, I added the remaining sciences all in their separate lanes making either 2/sec (🟥🟩⬛️), 1/sec (🟦) or 0.5/sec (🟪🟨) (see sections). Small concrete plant on the left with a flame thrower ammo plant below. Also a rocket fuel plant (1/sec) on the bottom. Have yet to set up automatic rocket and satellite production due to the limitations of this base design. I'm starting to see why everyone uses a "main bus" design instead of compartmentalizing each science to it's own section. Much easier to expand when demand needs more iron plates of copper wire (also probably a bit more fun dealing with bottlenecks). Took me 40hrs to beat. I feel like I didn't fully engage with all the system the game had to offer. I barely touched circuits, nuclear power and more advanced combat. Overall great game and definitely lived up to the hype!
DAY 4 5 - Added military, blue and purple science sections - Now have actual train unloading station with remote mining bases I get a feeling that individual sections are kinda annoying. Maybe I should have made it with a "main bus" design...

Map view. Near the end I was starting to run into issues with the trains getting stuck and iron throughput so I kinda rushed it so I could move onto a new base.

bro where tf do you people come from to gaze upon my niche engineering posts
Insane aliexpress pull. Some 70KV high voltage silicone cable with an absurd insulation thickness to get that high voltage rating.

DAY 3 - Tore up the entire factory and redid the layout with sections specific for each science aiming for 2 science per second for each one. - Set up logistic overflows for all intermediate outputs for surplus collection. - Still need to rebuild blue and yellow science but to hit 2 per second requires absurd amount of constructors... Need to now set up external stone and coal mines...

Had to pass cables into the center of a rotating robot joint without using expensive slip rings. Turns out if you just guide the start of a standard cable chain, you can get it to unspool while rotating. This mechanism gives 300 degrees of rotation freedom, perfect for arms!

This probably feels really good on your back
I had no idea they made little boxes with feet that stomped on the ground to test soundproofing. I want one. I have no use for it but I want one.

I very much enjoy this huge outrunner motor and huge exposed orange 3 phase power cables for it
NEWS: The world's first production ready all-solid-state battery vehicle has been unveiled, a fully electric motorcycle. • Starting price: $30,900 ($44,900 for top trim) • Range: Up to 370 miles (top trim) • 80% charge in 10 minutes • Native NACS port • Peak charging speed: 200kW • 33.3 kWh battery pack • 0-60mph: as little as 2.5s • Energy density of 400 watt-hours/kilogram (vs ~300 Wh/kg in Tesla's new 2170 cell in the Model Y Performance) • 100,000 cycles, without needing to limit charging to 80% • Retains over 99% of its capacity at temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C) and as high as 212°F (100°C) • Battery will not ignite if it’s damaged, and doesn't use any rare earth materials • Modular architecture • Up to 201HP • 124mph top speed • Deliveries start in the US in Q1 2026. Orders open today. The specs are impressive on paper, but whether all this is actually true will need to be confirmed when deliveries start in a couple months. More images in thread below, including of the native NACS port:

Replying to @FangSystems
DAY 2 - Doing chemical and blue science circuits now (albeit very slowly) - Set up a basic train network setup because I depleted my starter iron patch. - Fully enclosed my base and my mining base because of a random bug attack wiping out my entire lab setup before I could run back (thanks for the warning @fishPointer) - Rushing to research logistic bots just so i can move items over the air. I now see how factories at this scale are all spaghetti conveyer belt messes. I have been kinda scared at how many bullets the bugs are taking. Do they get stronger from the pollution or something?

teleoperator kicking himself over not programming Asimov's Laws of Robotics... Worth considering if we should base today's reality on the science fiction musings from the past. Testing with humanoid robots is a very interesting new challenge. Historically robots have been confined to keep out zones with rigid walls and laser barriers, lock-out/tag-out, etc. This is the easy way to ensure people don't get hurt by very capable machines. But the more we integrate humanoid robotics into collaborative roles with humans the more we need to remove those barriers by nature of the work.

No wiki FACTORIO progress thread DAY 1 -Got a unreal spawn point with all resource patches right next to each other - Settled on a main bus with it all feeding left to right (thanks @pronounced_kyle) - Have set up overflow chests at the end of each production line - Set up remove oil refining and about to start on petroleum whatevers - Died 3 times when my car hit a random rock and all the bugs swarmed me
