Always a blessing to journey with young people in faith. So happy to catch up with @jpdenys29 in São Paulo! We first met through the @ESTEEM_Lead capstone, where @StThomasUniv joins @StThomasMoreYAM and other campus ministries in forming young leaders for Church and society. Through many conversations, JP began to discern God’s call and, after graduating from @yale entered Seminary. What a joy to see the work the Lord is doing in his life during his propedeutic year. JP, may God who began this good work in you bring it to fulfillment (Phil 1:6)! 🙏🏼

Today, as the US bishops consecrated the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, @StThomasUniv joined in the consecration together with @CatholicMiami High School students participating in the STU Impact Summer program. Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us! 🇺🇸🇻🇦🙏🏼

As soccer fans prepare for the World Cup, from a Pope who’s a sports’ fan himself, “let us walk together!”
The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney

Pope Leo is truly Fit for the Kingdom, calling us to stay strong in body, mind, and spirit: —“Everyone knows I play tennis now. I used to play American football… but I also played soccer… A little exercise is good for everyone; we have to find ways to stay healthy: body, mind, and soul.” 💪🏼🎾🏈⚽️🙏🏼 x.com/VaticanNews/status/206…

Thanks to all at @Uniitalo_ Catholic University in São Paulo for the hospitality. I was blessed to join hundreds of Brazilian young Catholics for the Cristo Alegria 11th Conference, to speak on Fitness for the Kingdom, and celebrate Mass for the conference participants. Obrigado Brasil! 🇧🇷🙏🏼🇻🇦

Happy to celebrate the feast of St. José de Anchieta in Brazil! Missionary, educator, poet, and one of the founders of São Paulo, St. José de Anchieta gave his life proclaiming Christ and serving the people of this land. May his zeal inspire many missionary disciples, bringing the Gospel with courage and joy. São José de Anchieta, rogai por nós! 🇧🇷🙏🏼

“Just as Christ gives himself as food in the Eucharistic celebration, the procession shows that he is not confined to the church, but comes out to meet us. Jesus travels the streets, crosses the squares and visits our neighborhoods, dwelling in the settings of our daily lives. He is a God who is close to us, who walks with his people, the Lord of history. He is comfort to the weak, light for families, hope for the sick and peace for those who suffer.   The Christ who processes through the streets in the monstrance is the same one who identifies with the poor, the downtrodden, those who are alone and forsaken.” — Pope Leo XIV, Corpus Christi Mass in Madrid 🇻🇦✝️🇪🇸

Christ is the true and eternal Priest, who instituted the pattern of an everlasting sacrifice and was the first to offer himself as the saving Victim, commanding us to make this offering as his memorial. – Preface of the Modt Holy Eucharist / Corpus Christi 2026

O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left us a memorial of your Passion, grant us, we pray, so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may always experience in ourselves the fruits of your redemption. 🙏🏼 Corpus Christi 2026

Grateful to the Holy Father’s commissioning to serve as a Papal Missionary of Mercy, preaching and sharing the message of God’s mercy and reconciliation across the US and beyond, always proud to represent @catholicmiami and @stumiami. I was blessed to visit the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, lead a workshop for the Hispanic community, hear confessions, and preach at @RotherShrine.

Pilgrimage to @RotherShrine in Oklahoma City. Kneeling before the relics of Blessed Stanley Rother, American priest, missionary, and martyr, I was reminded that priesthood is a total gift of self. A shepherd cannot abandon his flock. Bl. Stanley lived those words and gave his life for Christ and the people he served. I entrusted my priesthood, the @stumiami community, and all those I serve to his intercession.

A blessing to celebrate Mass on Trinity Sunday at @RotherShrine. Inspired by Bl. Stanley’s missionary witness and the Augustinians who founded @stumiami after losing everything in Cuba except their faith and mission. Created by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and sent by the Holy Spirit, may we live as missionary disciples rather than comfortable Catholics.

Closing out the month of May with a workout and a thought about Our Lady. Real strength isn’t just built at the gym. It’s built through discipline, humility, and perseverance: virtues Mary lived every day. The gym strengthens the body. Prayer strengthens the soul. Character is built by showing up faithfully for both. Stay strong in body, mind, and spirit. Fit for the Kingdom.

Excited for Pope Leo XIV’s new encyclical Magnifica Humanitas and to continue advancing the work of @StThomasUniv on ethical standards for the use of AI. “Truth is not created by consensus, nor manufactured by power, nor generated by calculation; it is received as a reality that precedes us and calls us.” At STU, our work in AI ethics is rooted in the conviction that human dignity is received, not invented, and that technology must always serve the truth about the human person. “In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness.”
