Teaching on a LYCIG course I met Fr Graham Naylor, the Rector of Bungay in Suffolk. It happens that we are third cousins sharing great great grandparents in Joseph and Margaret Naylor. @lycignews

Pretty damning of the Prime Minister and this government but John Healey should have resigned much earlier than this. He should have resigned the day we failed to defend Cyprus.

A great privilege to lead the annual Sheffield commemoration of the D Day landings again this year. Eighty-two years ago Britain, along her empire and her allies initiated the liberation of Europe - at some great cost. Sacrifices which should not be forgotten and which should inspire us to renewed greatness and service today. #dday82 #dday #wewillrememberthem

I have had a very fruitful and inspiring day visiting the Salesians Provincial Office in Bolton. I’m currently on a year long National CofE Incumbents Leadership Programme focusing on Children and Youth. We are discerning our next steps in Youth Ministry @carver_street. St John Bosco pray for us and for our youth.

Whatever you think of his record there is no doubt that Sir Tony Blair is head and shoulders above any of our political class today. He is still astute and is absolutely right that we cannot have seven Prime Ministers in ten years and still be considered a serious country. “Too much politics and not enough policy.” Spot on analysis imho.

So much for standing up against Russia. We pay them for oil we could drill for ourselves, so they can buy weapons to fight Ukraine, that we fund to buy weapons to fight Russia! Make it make sense?

Last night Ed Miliband whipped his MPs to vote against our motion to save the North Sea and British refineries. He argued Labour’s plans to kill British production was ‘climate leadership.’ Meanwhile he was waiving sanctions on Putin’s oil. 🤯
BREAKING: UK waives some Russian oil sanctions, allowing imports of diesel and jet fuel processed in third countries from Russian crude (most likely supply chain: imports of Indian refined products produced by processing Russian crude). gov.uk/government/publicatio…

I agree with Kemi. What a disgraceful betrayal of Ukraine whilst we are refusing to properly drill the North Sea. Appealing to @Abtisam_Mohamed to lobby on our allies behalf. Otherwise we will be paying Russia to prosecute a war and at the we same time paying the Ukrainians to defend themselves.
After 18 months of “standing up to Putin” the Labour govt quietly issued a licence allowing imports of Russian oil refined in third countries. Yesterday Labour MPs voted AGAINST UK oil and gas licences. We are now importing from Russia instead of drilling in the North Sea. Insane.

I had the great privilege of taking Dr Jean Russell to the Convent of the Incarnation, Oxford. She will be spending upto a year here as an alongsider, in order to test her vocation to the religious life. We will pray for her @carver_street and continue to pray for an increase in vocations to the religious life. Rev’d Mother: “Jean, what do you desire?” Jean: “I desire to seek God and explore your life in this place.” Rev’d Mother: “May God in His love strengthen your resolve by His Grace.” @monknunanglican
