Social capital was meant to be #democracy's bulwark. It isn't (not on its own) My brand new research with @pedrofierroz, @Fcorowe & @EllenHel in @JRS83202671 shows that bonding social capital fuelled the #Trump swing. Bridging #SocialCapital blunted it. doi.org/10.1111/jors.70071

In “Impacts of COVID-19 on Internal Population Movements,” @MiguelGLeonardo, @Fcorowe et al. used Facebook user mobility data to illustrate that contrary to the Global North, “Mexico did not see an urban exodus during the pandemic." @geodatascience ow.ly/J2a350WBxMV

V happy to see our project DEBIAS with @CCabreraPhD featured by @UKRI_News @SmartDataRes. Mobile phone data have transformed how we understand cities & populations. But they are biased. DEBIAS aims to identify and correct biases in mobility patterns derived from these data ...
👋 Say hello to our accelerators! Over the coming months, we'll profile each of our nine accelerator teams. First up @Fcorowe and @CCabreraPhD, whose groundbreaking research project could transform how governments study population change. sdruk.ukri.org/our-work/case…
