Here are the final results of 2025's resolutions.
1) Didn't quite hit my target of losing 30 pounds, but I did lose 25 pounds and built a little bit of muscle in the process.
2) I've cut back on junk food dramatically and have been eating smaller portions. No more soda, no caffeine, had one small drink of whiskey maybe 3-4 times the whole year (I never had a drinking problem or anything, but I used to have a drink once or twice a week).
3) I read the whole New Testament, and I'm almost done with the Old Testament as well.
4) We overachieved here. Harry Potter books 4, 5, 6, and 7, The Ickabog, and The Christmas Pig (all by JK Rowling). A Christmas Carol (Charles Dickens), Beowulf (Seamus Heaney translation), The Wise Woman (George MacDonald), and A Wrinkle in Time (Madeleine L'Engle).
5) "Help" was a strong word since I'm not musically inclined. But I've encouraged him and brought him to lessons for the two instruments he was practicing. He's done two recitals for each instrument and knocked it out of the park with each song. He regularly gets praised by music teachers for being way more skilled than other kids his age, and he has only been playing for a relatively short time. He also picked up a third instrument that he's mostly self-teaching.
6) Success. Not much more to say about it.
As for my gaming progress, that'll be in a separate post.
