2026 New Year's Resolutions: 1) Finish what I started with weight loss. I was 5 pounds short of my (arbitrary) goal last year, but still lost 25 pounds. This year, my goal is to drop another 15 pounds, which will be my target permanent weight. 2) Read DC Comics issue per day. I have a bunch of the DC Finest collections, from 1940s-1990s and want to get through them. 3) Finish 6 more novels with my son. We both do a lot of reading on our own, so these will likely be audiobooks in the car. 4) Continue to nurture and encourage my son's musical pursuits. 5) Wrap up reading the Old Testament (New American Standard), then start over and read the 1611 King James Version start to finish. Probably won't finish the entire KJV this year, but I'll read at least one chapter a day. 6) My gaming goals are a bit more targeted this year. I want to finish all of my NES, GB/GBC, GCN, CD-i, TurboGrafx-16, and Virtual Boy games. Most of those are short, but there are a ton of them. I'm also going to play the rest of the Working Designs games I haven't played yet, across various platforms. Altogether, it'll be about 125 games, but like 100 of them are only a few hours long, if that.

Just read Bloodruth #2 by @twisted_twins and wow, that took some unexpected turns. I can't wait for Bloodruth #3 now! I seriously love this character, and I hope we get to see her connect with Goodyng again before long. @TheRippaverse

For all my life I’ve paid taxes, and while I’ve been pretty irritated by it, this year it hits different. I always knew there was fraud and abuse but what we’ve learned this year makes me think MOST of our tax $$ funds fraud & abuse while a tiny chunk funds necessities. We need a revolution in how we spend money as a country and we need a revolution in how we tax people, because I firmly believe that YOU will put your money to uses far more beneficial to all of us than the government will. Extremely powerful interests want us to be slaves to waste and abuse. We don’t have to be. I really think this is the rally cry of the future. The more we’re taxed, the more we’re enslaved. The more money YOU keep from YOUR hard work, the more free we all are. We need candidates going forward who are committed to keeping their hands out of our wallets. And yes, I paid my tax bill today. 😡😤 What do you think?

With a detransitioner winning a 2 million dollar medical malpractice settlement (which should have been 100 times higher), the total collapse of the trans movement is officially upon us. In the next few years, every Frankenstein gender butcher and perverted "medical professional" who profited off of the sexual mutilation of children will be sued into oblivion. The story should end with these mad scientists convicted in a court of law and hanging from the gallows. Instead it will end with them bankrupted and disgraced, which isn't as good but will have to be good enough. As the years pass, those who supported this madness will quietly retreat and pretend that none of this ever happened, or at least that they had no hand in it. We shouldn't let them. The trans movement will go down as the most deranged form of mass hysteria that human civilization has ever seen. We should make sure that history accurately records who went along with it and who had the courage to stand against it, even when the hysteria was at its peak and there was little to be gained, and much to lose, in doing so. The people who fell on the wrong side of this issue should never be trusted again. They should be shamed and disgraced and forced to live with the humiliation for the rest of their days. We cannot stop the rats from fleeing the ship. But we can remember their names .

Here are the final results of 2025's resolutions. 1) Didn't quite hit my target of losing 30 pounds, but I did lose 25 pounds and built a little bit of muscle in the process. 2) I've cut back on junk food dramatically and have been eating smaller portions. No more soda, no caffeine, had one small drink of whiskey maybe 3-4 times the whole year (I never had a drinking problem or anything, but I used to have a drink once or twice a week). 3) I read the whole New Testament, and I'm almost done with the Old Testament as well. 4) We overachieved here. Harry Potter books 4, 5, 6, and 7, The Ickabog, and The Christmas Pig (all by JK Rowling). A Christmas Carol (Charles Dickens), Beowulf (Seamus Heaney translation), The Wise Woman (George MacDonald), and A Wrinkle in Time (Madeleine L'Engle). 5) "Help" was a strong word since I'm not musically inclined. But I've encouraged him and brought him to lessons for the two instruments he was practicing. He's done two recitals for each instrument and knocked it out of the park with each song. He regularly gets praised by music teachers for being way more skilled than other kids his age, and he has only been playing for a relatively short time. He also picked up a third instrument that he's mostly self-teaching. 6) Success. Not much more to say about it. As for my gaming progress, that'll be in a separate post.
New Year's Resolutions: 1) Lose 30 pounds, gain a little muscle 2) Eat better (to help with #1) 3) Re-read the New Testament 4) Read 6 novels with my son 5) Help my son practice his music instruments (he's learning a couple of them at once) 6) Do a serious round of spring cleaning in my house, yard, and garage 7) Clear out 10% of my video game backlog (backlog is currently ~900 games)

Highlights: -Clair Obscur was the best game I've played in at least a decade. -Arc the Lad trilogy was incredible, way better than I expected. -A Plague Tale games were really, really good despite being largely walking sims. -Cathedral and Infernax were both great indies, and seem to be very overlooked. -The Traumatarium games by @eligos_games are really cool if you like old school dungeon crawling. -Bayonetta Origins sucked.

Oh look, I read your post and this came up on my screen. It seems like Megyn Kelly was right.

1/ Megyn Kelly's recent comments cross a dangerous line. Accusing Jews of "making antisemites" blames Jewish people for the hate directed against them—a classic victim-blaming trope. 🧵

Republicans have everything. We control the White House, House, & Senate. Yes, I understand we need 60 votes in the Senate to pass legislation. So, Senate Republicans, either nuke the filibuster & pass bill after bill or Republicans will lose the House in 2026. Your choice.

I do have serious questions about why he doesn't want this stuff coming out. But there are several reasons that I don't think it's because he's in the files and will be revealed as a pedo or a rapist. -The Dems had access to this for 4 years and didn't release it. Them releasing the info would've ended his campaign in 2 seconds. -The corrupt deep state actors had access to this during his first term, during Biden's term, and during his current term, and none of them leaked any of it. -Every actual reference to him that's come up has been people saying specifically that he DIDN'T do anything, including from a prominent victim of Epstein. -Trump is widely known to have kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago when he found out Epstein was hitting on underage girls. -Epstein apparently hated Trump yet never did anything to ruin him. I think it's obvious that Trump is covering for something. My guess is it's either Israel/Mossad, or it's because elements of our own government were involved and he thinks that information would simply do too much damage to the nation right now. It's bad. It's wrong of him to cover it up, regardless of the outcome of revealing the details. But I don't see any real reason to think he's "in the files" in any kind of incriminating way.

You have absolutely no questions on why Trump thinks it’s bad to talk about Epstein? On why he asked Mace/Boebert to not sign on to releasing the files? …none?
