At #SB64, FEMNET joined fellow civil society organizations in a strategic dialogue on Africa's climate priorities and the urgent need to advance #FeministClimateJustice. The conversation reaffirmed the important role that civil society continues to play in shaping global climate outcomes and ensuring that the voices of communities most affected by the climate crisis are heard in decision-making spaces.

The Chair of the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) recognized the significant contributions of civil society organizations in advancing Africa's climate agenda, including advocacy efforts that helped secure the Loss and Damage Fund at #COP27. He emphasized that climate finance and loss and damage remain key priorities for the continent and called on developed countries to honour their commitments under Article 9.1 of the Paris Agreement. #FeministClimateFinance #SB64

For FEMNET, climate action must be grounded in feminist principles. Women and girls across Africa are disproportionately impacted by climate change, yet they continue to lead transformative solutions within their communities. Achieving climate justice requires equitable access to climate finance, meaningful participation in decision-making, and investments that address the realities and priorities of women and girls. There can be no #ClimateJustice without #GenderJustice. #FeministClimateJustice

As #ILC2026 comes to a close, one thing is clear: the future of work must work for women too. βš–οΈ πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ’»Women should not have to choose between caregiving and economic survival, and platform companies cannot profit from workers while disappearing when harm occurs. Accountability, social protection, and care must be at the heart of platform work. For deeper insights, read @NicoleMMaloba's article on Women and the Platform Economy in Africa: Beyond Flexibility and Digital Innovation. πŸ”—femnet.org/2026/06/women-and… #Femonomics

When we analyze data through a gender lens, we can strengthen advocacy, influence policy, and drive accountability. βœŠπŸΎβ™€οΈ That's exactly what we're learning in today's session on #DataDrivenAdvocacy for ending violence against women and girls. πŸ’‘πŸ“ˆ #ACTtoEndViolence #SRHRDialogue

πŸ“ˆ Data is a powerful tool for ending violence against women and girls. It helps us uncover hidden realities, identify gaps in services, influence policy decisions, and hold duty-bearers accountable. When backed by evidence, advocacy becomes stronger, more targeted, and harder to ignore. βœŠπŸΎπŸ“’ #ACTtoEndViolence #SRHRDialogues

βš–οΈ#GenderEquality in the world of work cannot simply mean getting more women into jobs. It must mean safe jobs, decent pay, social protection, and recognising that unpaid care work doesn’t magically disappear when women log on to work platforms. πŸ“±Because flexibility without protection isn’t freedom. As conversations continue at #ILC2026, the question remains: Are we building the future of work for womenβ€”or simply digitising inequality? πŸ’ #Femonomics
