A UK cop is under investigation for using AI to fabricate evidence in multiple criminal cases. Hallucination gets all the press. Badge-wearing fabricators don't. The model didn't go rogue. A person did. news.sky.com/story/derbyshir…

I’m building a map of people doing cool work in robotics, AI, drones, defense tech, startups, and weird engineering projects. Reply with: -what you’re building -what you’re learning I’ll go through the replies and connect people who should know each other. No pitch. No flex. Just builders finding builders

KPMG pulled its own AI report. It hallucinated. Big 4. Audit firm. Trusted to sign off on financial statements. Couldn't audit their own document about AI. techcrunch.com/2026/06/13/kp…

PwC: AI is raising medical bills, not lowering them. First thing that got automated wasn't diagnostics. It was billing. The tool goes where the revenue is. fortune.com/2026/06/12/ai-ma…

Multiple state AGs are investigating OpenAI. Nonprofits are state-chartered. Convert donated assets to equity, and every AG in your footprint has standing to ask what the public got. Federal hearings get cameras. This is the quieter lever. techcrunch.com/2026/06/13/op…

TensorZero raised $7.3M, then archived its open source repo overnight. Open source was the distribution channel. Closing it means the users they acquired aren't the users they want. github.com/tensorzero/tensor…

The most interesting people I know are usually building something nobody talks about. What are you working on these days? Startup, project, research, business, or just an idea you can’t stop thinking about. Tell me below…!👇

Anthropic wrote the strongest public case that its own models were dangerous. The government agreed. Fable and Mythos are offline, by Trump administration order. Write the safety brief, hand someone else the shutdown switch. techcrunch.com/2026/06/12/an…

'Tell him he's a piece of shit.' That's reportedly the vibe inside Meta's new AI unit. Talent and compute aren't the bottleneck. The hardest AI problems in 2026 aren't in the weights. They're in the org chart. wired.com/story/mark-zuckerb…

Ukraine just used fully autonomous drones to kill Russian soldiers. Every defense ministry on earth just updated their procurement roadmap. The autonomous weapons debate is now retrospective. arstechnica.com/ai/2026/06/u…

Jeff Bezos's Prometheus raised $12B to build an 'artificial general engineer' for the physical world. AGI got a rebrand and a hardhat. The interesting question: 'general' in hardware means something very different than in software. techcrunch.com/2026/06/11/je…

I’m building a map of people doing cool work in robotics, AI, drones, defense tech, startups, and weird engineering projects. Reply with: -what you’re building -what you’re learning I’ll go through the replies and connect people who should know each other. Also, if you’re in Boston or anywhere on the East Coast, drop that too. If enough people are around, we’ll plan a small builder meetup. No pitch. No flex. Just builders finding builders.

LLMs picked tactical nukes in 95% of wargame simulations. The model isn't broken. It found the optimal play within the rules. The rules are the problem. kennethpayne.uk/p/shall-we-p…

Anthropic apologized for hiding guardrails inside Claude Fable. Security researchers couldn't tell if the model lacked a capability or was silently blocking it. That ambiguity kills red-teaming. theverge.com/ai-artificial-i…

One agent misbehaving is a bug. A million agents optimizing against each other is a market structure problem. Google DeepMind is worried about the second one. This needs distributed systems researchers, not just alignment researchers. technologyreview.com/2026/06…

Bot had a 3-minute cooldown. No overrides. By design. Added an emergency bypass just in case. Used it exactly once. That one trade wiped 6 weeks of gains. I wrote the rules. I broke them.

Backtest: 847ms fills. Live paper: 2.3s. Prod: 4-14s with spikes. 6 weeks tuning the model. The data had zero slippage, zero partial fills, zero exchange outages. You can't backtest microstructure.
