You will be part of the day-to-day rhythm of the business, looking after livestock and the landscape appropriately, keeping things moving, and helping the team execute the jobs that matter. You’ll be guided through modern farming practices and be part of the team that keeps animals thriving and systems running. Some days will be routine and steady; other days will be full noise with livestock movements, joining, planning livestock reproduction calendars, lambing/calving preparation, shearing, and maintenance jobs that keep everything working the way it should. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲: ❇️ Daily livestock care, feed on offer, waters, stock movements, health monitoring, as well as grass budgeting. ❇️ Involvement in ET and AI programs for both Kerin Wagyu and Kerin Poll Merino including preparation, handling, and support work around reproduction program days. ❇️ Involvement in shearing operations (pre/post shearing, general support). ❇️ Property maintenance, including fencing, yards, water systems and facility upkeep. ❇️ Record keeping of flock and herd genetics, health data, treatments, weights/notes as required. ❇️ Carrying out general farm maintenance tasks. ❇️ Helping the broader team at peak times, including seasonal workloads and livestock movements. ❇️ Competent and trained working dogs are an absolute must for this job. 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 Kerin Ag is based at Yeoval, in the Central West of NSW in a 650mm rainfall environment. Farming in a part of the world where seasons change, markets move, and the only constant is that we must keep resetting our sails to the wind. Since starting Kerin Ag in 2007, we’ve grown the business by doing the basics skilfully, investing in people, backing great systems, and staying curious about how to turn pasture, fodder crops and rainfall into reliable cashflow. 4800ha, divided into 370 paddocks, all set up with cattle proof troughs fed by header tanks and bores. All livestock are rotationally grazed, they go to the right paddock at the right time for the right reason. The core of the business is seedstock, Kerin Poll Merino, Kerin Wagyu and a large-scale cattle trading enterprise, supported by an extensive pasture and fodder cropping program. We focus on matching stock rate to carrying capacity, managing risk, and making decisions based on facts rather than emotions and outside noise. That same thinking flows through how we run livestock, manage climate and work as a team. We’re serious about how this place looks and how it runs. Immaculate infrastructure, well-designed sheep and cattle yards, and well-maintained systems are a big part of how we operate.
