Happy to have contributed a short piece for @ASPI_org on the recently concluded India-Australia military exercise; Chi helped Ind & Aus develop closer security ties. given current trends, this will likely get stronger. #AustraHind #IndiaAustraliaSecurity #IndoPacific

In my new opinion piece for @NikkeiAsia, I call on YouTube to close their loophole allowing PRC-based creators to monetise content on the platform. If they don’t, they’re effectively subsidising state-backed propaganda & disinformation. asia.nikkei.com/Opinion/Guer…

New @ASPI_ICPC report out today on Digital ID. This is a really tricky policy space in Australia because of a long history of failure and overreach. But there is a lot of opportunity if it's well done: more privacy, more convenience and ⬆️productivity aspi.org.au/report/future-di…

Key things we need: 1) Legislation that protects citizens and provides a lot of transparency; 2) Ban attribute vending; 3) Roll-out the scheme to businesses (& in parallel disincentivise personal identity data collection); 4) Give states a say in the governance.
