Today, we celebrate 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance as a nation, a journey sustained by resilience, faith, and the collective determination of its people.
I congratulate our President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and indeed all Nigerians on this Democracy Day. We honour the heroes and heroines — past and present — whose sacrifices helped build and preserve the democratic institutions we hold today.
June 12 serves as a reminder that democracy is not merely a system of government but a collective responsibility. It calls on all citizens and leaders alike to remain committed to accountability, inclusion, national unity, and service to the common good.
As representatives, we will continue to advance people-centred legislation and constitutional reforms that strengthen governance, protect rights, promote economic growth, and bring government closer to the people. Our ongoing work on constitutional review and critical legislative interventions reflects that commitment.
As we mark this milestone, I urge every Nigerian to renew their faith in this nation. Together, we can build a democracy that continues to deliver peace, justice, opportunity, and shared prosperity for all.
Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria.
