How does a small loss-making recruitment agency land a £50 million deal to supply PPE?
According to Lord Feldman, the agency owner just needs to be a 'good chap' and 'ex-SAS'.
Much of the PPE SG Recruitment eventually delivered would be marked 'do not supply to the NHS'.

Recently, @BarnsleyAT were welcomed to our College by our Speech and Language Therapy & Assistive Technology team. Among them was Jamie, who is a service user representative for BAT and an advanced user of the Grid software, which enables him to communicate using technology.

I called families to tell them their beloved was dying. I read out messages from absent family members. I saw the British public behave with such *staggering* decency as they obeyed the rules to protect the vulnerable.

This is a real concern which urgently needs addressing. In the specialist FE sector, the gap is even wider, making it much harder for specialist colleges to recruit and retain SEND specialist staff.

Nearly half of college teachers leave the profession within three years of starting, partly due to the pay gap between college and school teachers.
The pay gap between colleges and schools is set to widen to nearly £7,000 or 18% in 2024/25, the largest gap on record.

So, back to that gap in SEND provision: it has been exploited by private equity firms and Middle East wealth funds, who are now making millions of pounds from private SEND schools – which cost double that of a state special school (/12)
