What an amazing career Kasper Schmeichel has had. Showing his exceptional capabilities as a keeper in helping Leicester City to that 5,000-1 title triumph. Showing his character as a man with his courageous and compassionate response to the Vichai tragedy. Schmeichel a class act as a professional and a human being. 39-year-old announces retirement because of a shoulder issue. Tells Danish TV2: "I have consulted several different surgeons and experts regarding my shoulder, and they have said that I should not expect to be able to return to elite football. I've thought a lot, but I think it's the right time (to retire).”
