Hi! After force redirecting browsers and deleting the app I've broken out and left. Not moving to a single new place but FilipNest on Mastodon, work on LinkedIn and WILDLABS, music on the Elektronauts and Drowned In Sound forums. FilipNest.com, email, world, telephone.

I cannot stay on a platform run by someone who spreads transphobic, racist and sexist hate, mocks disabled people, attacks scientists, treats workers horribly and kills a great community. I feel no organisation or individual with any moral standing is right to be on here anymore.
I've loved it here and care for so many people I've met or interacted with. I wish for a truly global, kind and well moderated platform to surface so we can do this again.💖
"especially during the “Under the Sea” scene with all the different sea creatures doing their dance, they picked so immaculately all the species that in real life would’ve moved like that."
This interview is a thing of beauty.
In fact, nearly all the fishes in the film were modelled after real species! Read my interview for @Slate magazine for an ichthyologist’s perspective! slate.com/culture/2023/06/li…

Wishing all CEOs of organisations completely unrelated to wildlife that promote-tweet wildlife imagery and facts to get followers a swift death through bears, being pecked to death by eagles, drowned by dolphins and such. Ants. Maybe a lot of ants.

Love when bugs just look so silly it makes you laugh. Rewriting subregions to the parent region and you get leopards that most certainly live in South Africa.

Today is #WorldParrotDay and as promised on #worldturtleday last week - here are some parrots from Edward Lear's 'Illustrations of the family of Psittacidae, or parrots, the greater part of them species hitherto unfigured...', 1832.🦜
Went to a fun ambient electronic gig last night and it's so much nicer watching artists fumbling around with machines than watching machines fumbling around with artists.
🌻 It's here!🌻

ALT A yellow image, with an illustration of a long, winding pink table - where many people of different ages, genders and ethnicities are talking, eating, playing cards and chess, holding hands, snoozing etc. The illustration is by Mohammed Z. Rahman. There are two neon green fireworks surrounding the table. Black text reads 'What Shall We Build Here? a festival of art, climate and community, 28 June - 2 July, Toynbee Studios around'. Breaking news: someone is currently registering a Twilio account at £0.034 * 67million so they have at least £23million spare to pay their corrupt friends with.
Congratulations to Colonel Tom Ryall from the Royal Navy for winning the hyperbolic statement of the week prize when talking about the Quantum Compass stuff on #R4Today - "It's up there with electricity, with fire."
