Yes, the crypto-valley is real ๐
This week I had the chance to visit Zug, the famous crypto-valley, for the first time. Zug is the small Swiss city (130k people) where Vitalik lived (alongside many other Ethereum OGs) and launched Ethereum in 2015. And thanks to a good mix of regulatory clarity, favorable legal structures/taxes & an innovative public administration, Zug managed to attract 1k crypto companies, 5k jobs and billions of capital. A powerful demonstration of how much value a pro-innovation policy can attract.
With the EU catching up in terms of regulation, Switzerland has somewhat fallen out of the spotlight in recent times. But the crypto community there is still unique in terms of capital, innovation/people density and pragmatic rules and oversight. Will try to spend more time there next time.
