Now is the time for Biden or Trump to issue a national call to the nation to serve as a firefighter. Backed with a national plan and dramatically expanded federal resources for training, big pay increases, and better benefits ranging from childcare to health and life insurance. For paid and volunteer. Especially since 65% of firefighters in America are volunteers. My father has been one for my entire life.
The California fires are a 9/11-type moment. This moment requires the vision of a national call to action to young people—backed by rapid and bi-partisan Congressional support. Like we never had after 9/11.
We don’t need war with Mexico or Canada or Panama or Greenland. We need a war on wildfires. And we need a new, expanded and improved army to fight it.
America needs a new generation of helpers for the many fires and disasters yet to come. A Greatest Generation of firefighters. Building it can and should start now. #LookForTheHelpers 🚒⛑️🇺🇸

I was charged $100 by @nycgov & @FDNY to keep the helmet I was wearing on 9/11 after I was forced to retire because of my 9/11 illnesses. If I gave it back to them they literally would have run it over with a bulldozer and sent it to the dump. #CREAM

Pretty wild: #Eagles Jason Kelce had to pay $50,000 for Super Bowl LVII tickets for his family (pregnant wife and two daughters), because the NFL wouldn't give him any free tickets.

Inaccessibility is not welcoming.
Carrying a wheelchair user is not access.
