tried to take a bigger step today and not just completely copy an existing drawing, and use a reference as more of a guide
I tried my best to use the image on the right to guide the details( ex: where the eyes should go, and the specifics of the hair) and I think it

went very well
yeah it doesn’t look very good but I’m so glad I was able to start with the shape of the head and work my way from there as opposed to drawing wherever I could copy exact proportions previously
and importantly you can still tell what I’m trying to draw so it’s

at least passable enough for me
also also I was trying to be more slow and controlled with my lines and I think it turned out well (when I remembered to at least)
I plan on starting drawabox soon so we’ll see how that goes

probably the last day I’ll do a daily drawing as I think forcing daily drawings will inhibit me as it forces time constraints onto me which I don’t want for something as inconsequential as drawing is for me right now and I’m just busy enough with other things

3rd image is a reference (obviously) but these 3 drawings are my first steps into literally just picking up a pencil and trying to copy something
the 3rd drawing was my attempt at doing it quicker with less detail so I wouldn’t try to measure every random thing
