Informal waste collection networks - despite containing some of the best expertise around waste management in the world, can also often contain human rights issues - child labor, forced labor, predatory lending, making these sources “high risk” and therefor avoided.

It's been a long week filled with emotions. After our local Haitian team touched down on the ground in Les Cayes, the epicenter of the Haiti earthquake, they have been able to locate more than 500 collectors and their family members and counting.

Meal delivery in La Creole, Les Cayes 🇭🇹 This community in southern Haiti was impacted by the 7.2 earthquake nearly a week ago. Many houses have sustained damage—some families have since been staying outside. We brought fresh meals with our partners @doWorkorg & @FirstMileImpact.
