In September, @FirstYearCLE partnered with an amazing team from @cwru's Student Run Health Clinic to collect diapers and donations in support of three local service providers, Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland, Goods Bank NEO and Womankind. The drive collected over 6,500 diapers!

(1/4) FYC and partners from across Ohio Baby's 1st Network, Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality, CelebrateOne and Cradle Cincinnati, hosted our first ever Infant Vitality Awareness Days Sept 12-13 in Columbus.

(3/4) FYC then met with 17 individual legislators to build/advance relationships and to advocate for the passage of HB7 and respectful healthcare.

FYC advocates for the broad support of Diaper Banks statewide to build capacity AND the administration of a Medicaid waiver in Ohio to provide coverage for diapers.

Medicaid in Ohio does not currently cover diapers unless they are "medically necessary" for conditions like incontinence in older children/adults and autism. Infant/baby diapers are not covered.
