Some observations from what I’ve seen so far this spring/summer regarding umpiring.
This isn’t meant as criticism or bashing. Umpires have a tough job — and I respect that. My intent is to raise a concern that affects player development and the integrity of the game.

So what am I asking?
•Call the defined strike zone
•Handle the game fairly and consistently
•Address unsportsmanlike behavior as needed
Coaches, myself included, can also do better. This is a shared responsibility.

One final point:
Please stop treating assistant coaches as if they’re irrelevant.
They’re knowledgeable, involved, and deserve respect when engaging appropriately.
We are not potted plants. IYKYK. 😂

To everyone blaming the athlete for a lack of commitment taking NIL money stop. The athlete finally has a seat at the table for what they generate. Coaches and schools were banking cash and athletes got little in proportion. The institutions created this mess.

Idea @IHSAA1 @IIAAA3, how about stop using antiquated ideas like geography as primary factor to arrange sectionals? Make the regular season matter! Think outside the box to use technology to make state tournaments better. A 5th class or not is not most impactful variable. @IHSBCA

Not a fifth class, but IHSAA and IIAAA moving forward with four-class proposal with fixed enrollment cutoffs that would change how schools are classified. bit.ly/40dSPHC

PCR detects dead virus = test. We can infer cases overstated. If cases overstated based on dead virus we can infer asymptomatic cases overstated. Asymptomatic are overstated can we infer asymptomatic spread overstated? Entire rationale for economic disruption? @EthicalSkeptic

One top 5 team will end their season in the first round tonight thanks to geography. While it’s exciting, it’s best if they meet later instead of other teams BENEFITTING from geography. C’mon @IHSAA1 find a better way! Go @LCHSAthletics #StillABear

Congrats @HSERoyalsBase. Back2back HCC state champs. 6 diff HCC teams in title game since 05 - 4 champs. Playing in HCC not for everyone.
