Playing tomorrow at a course where I missed state Senior Am qualifying by 2 strokes after shooting a QUAD on the 18th hole after misreading a lie in the bunker. Not gonna lie, anxious. New course management thinking should help. Gonna get after it.

Awesome example of high level course management
Drivable Par 4: A lesson in Dispersion. This is 17 at Colorado National my home course. It is a drivable par 4, here is how I play it. The green circle is where the large majority of my dispersion will land with my driver. The white, the occasional foul ball. No matter where the pin is that back bunker, left side of it is my target. It allows me to just stand up there and hit it. When you choose a target that allows for both sides of your dispersion then you can just stand up there and hit it knowing statistically it is going to be up there within that green circle. I will often see people, move it right to avoid the water. The problem is now you shift your right side of the dispersion into the long native grass right of the green. You will often over correct because your subconscious knows that and hit it in the water anyways. Pick something in the middle of it, step up there and swing freely.

I’ve never purchased a new putter. Big believer in fate/Karma. I like the idea of someone else’s victories or transgressions playing a role in my game.

It was 97 in the sun today, and I didn’t want to practice. Then I remembered a famous motivational quote: ā€œquit being a damn loser, idiotā€. And I went out and practiced.

This is a master class in club fitting and lie angle. I asked @benpearlgolf to talk about why bending my lie angle upright half a degree allowed me to hit it in the center more often. He nailed why it is working for me without me giving him any more information. His process and explanation of club fitting is exactly the same as I have seen it done on Tour and those guys are fitting the best players in the world.

I've been in the locker room at majors. Yesterday I spent 3 hours with my dad grinding on our short game. Give me that every single time.

I’ve officially joined the ā€œobscure wedge grind dudesā€ club. Just put the @Titleist K* 60degree in the bag. What I’ve observed: Easier to create spin in 15y and in shuts around the green than the M grind on bent grass Easier to ā€œopenā€ and make good contact

Golf Twitter: I just want to say thank you for everyone who follows me and interacts on my content. I have learned a lot from many of you who ask great questions and at times challenge my thinking. I value the level of interaction on here. With my background and experience I am trying to help bridge the gap between the Team Aspect a Tour Pro has and the mid to low handicap golfer's access to this kind of insight. There is so much more than goes into being a great golfer than just your swing. Pro's have: -Trainers -Swing Coaches -Stats guys -Psychologist -Nutritionist -Equipment guys My background as a player and a Performance Coach to the Pro's has enabled me to learn from some of the best in the world. My goal is to help people become better golfers, period.

Twilight league 9 hole match this evening, even par 36. Didn’t hit a single driver, just targeted widest landing zones and middles of greens. Can’t tell you how much my course management lesson with @drakesmith__ paid off today. #GOLF

Trying to watch the US women’s open, and I’m sure Morgan Pressel is a very nice person and was clearly a talented golfer, but….. Listening to her commentary is not on the top of my list.

Some putters are easy to line up, but distance control with them is hard. Some putters are exact the opposite. Only found one (finally) that is easy to control distance with and easy to line up. That’s the one in my bag now. Anyone else like this?
