Lessons from over a decade of building NBA Draft big boards:
1) Have strong opinions, loosely held.
Conviction matters.
So does being willing to change your mind when new information becomes available.
Stubbornness is not the same thing as confidence.

11) Avoid black-and-white thinking.
"This guy is obviously a star."
"This guy is obviously a bust."
The draft is the great humiliator.
I'd never want my team staffed by people who think that way.

Tony Bennett did not work for programs who relied on one and done talent. His team's ability to find and cultivate under-recruited talent during his time at WSU and UVA led to superb results anyways. None of the below players were 5 star prospects in HS but all became solid pros

Having both Jamal Shead and Chucky Hepburn on the floor make it very hard for the Magic to get into their offense. Really impressive defensive rotations from the rest of the team as well.

I was really impressed with Tre Johnsonβs play in his first summer league game. We already knew he was a bucket but seeing how easily and efficiently he got his shots in game 1 was very impressive. He belongs!
