Before my mum passed away, she gave my dad strict instructions to water the plants in the bathroom. He's been religiously watering them & keeping them alive. They look so amazing he decided to take them to his new home, only to discover they are plastic! Can hear my mum chuckling

I realise that I am healing and I am so happy for myself. What would have been a traumatic anniversary yesterday filled with angst and unwanted memories turned out to be a very peaceful day for me. I love this for me 💖

15 years ago today I started as a firefighter, one month before my 40th birthday This is a photo of me at Southwark training centre, now knocked down & converted to luxury apartments Like that beloved training school, I too was destroyed & have rebuilt myself as someone else

The Oxford Canal is among the earliest of cuts in the canal age Designed by James Brindley using a contour method which meant earthworks were minimised & the canal could pass many villages along the route Opened in 1774 bringing coal from Coventry coalfields to Oxford & London

An elderly woman on the narrowboat behind us has just fallen into the canal. Her husband called out for us to help him and we rushed over to pull her out of the water. Cups of tea all round
