Few days off work and some progress on the van. Sound insulation added, main distribution cables threaded, fridge tested, garage designed. Doesn’t look much, but it’s progress…
Delivery day of the bits finally. Exploited a couple of teenagers to carry it through the village. At 6.5m long, it wasn’t going to fit on the landy or trailer. #bespoke#woodworking
First pan of water boiled on the induction hob in the #vanlife build. So all systems in and tested now. So to be ripped out and get cracking insulating, cabling, building…#bespoke#camper
Finally started the curved bridge. Over 6m in length spanning 4.5m. Formwork made and trial of bending the wood layers. #bespoke#woodworking @besseytool
Week 2. After discovering last week that the trusty 25 year old tent is no longer waterproof, I have alternate accommodation. Not a bad commute to work, if still basic inside. Good test of the battery install (beer’s cold) and the heater works. @hewnwood#bespoke#woodworking
Days 4 & 5. Plumb line scribing of the frame braces, sawing, chiselling, planing of the tenons. Mortises cut, peg holes drilled. Frame podged back together with braces. Cracking week. @hewnwood#bespoke#woodworking#BrainWorkout
Day 1 of the Timber Framing course. Morning spent learning how to mark out wibbly-wobbly green oak. Afternoon started butchering some beautiful wood. This work will be going in an oak barn in West Wales 🐖 💩 👍 @hewnwood#woodworking#bespoke#scarfjoint
Camper-van electrics this weekend. Test build on the workbench. Awaiting a few more bits (including heat shrink!). Thanks to Roamer Vans for the design and support #campervan#offgrid#vanlife#bespoke
Finally made a start on the van after waiting to get all the bits. First pieces of wood in with help from No 3 Child. @AlisonCandlin and Sprocket drinking tea and offering moral support😂 Next job test fit the electrics but enough excitement for one day. #camper#woodworking#e
