Interesting archive. Pan Am was a key player in offering transatlantic services since WW2, and its base in Shannon played a critical role.
#TheAirchive: 45 years ago in 1977, Pan Am celebrated its 50th Anniversary with this fascinating promotional booklet, published in full. theairchive.net/pan-am-50th-…

In June 1942 Admiral Andrew Cunningham (Dublin), CinC RN Med Fleet, was flying in a US Navy flying boat (in civilian markings) from Foynes Co Limerick to New York. As they approached Newfounderland for re-fuelling, the pilot decided with 1K gallons of fuel left to keep flying!

Good to see an Irish crew operate the first flight off Dublin Airport’s new north runway.
Congratulations to the DAA on the opening of the new second runway (28R/10L) at @DublinAirport this afternoon. @Ryanair Mentored First Officer Gareth O’Driscoll, who trained with AFTA, operated the first flight from the new runway with Ryanair Base TRE Captain John McCarthy.
