I was deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Kanya King CBE MBE this week. Kanya was a visionary who transformed British music through the @MOBOAwards and opened doors for countless artists.
We worked together to promote diversity and inclusion across the creative industries, a mission she championed with passion and moral clarity.
Beyond her public achievements, she was warm, generous and inspiring, always seeing potential where others saw barriers. I feel privileged to have known her. My heartfelt condolences go to her family and all who were touched by her brilliance.

Had the most inspirational day at the @BFI celebrating 20 years of screening my film Coming to England to hundreds of schoolchildren. One little girl brought tears to my eyes when she told me ‘I melted her heart after hearing me speak’. I feel truly blessed ❤️

It makes me weep to think of all the damage that has been done to children due to online harms. I so wish I could have got Protective measures put in place 13yrs ago We continue to fail them and as I keep saying ‘childhood lasts a lifetime’ @LibVoice4Women
