American stocks had been underperforming the rest of the world for several months. And the very bottom was of this was on February 27th, right before the war started. The US started a war, and since then its stock market has outperformed the rest of the world.

In a media environment dominated by short-form video and slop, actually having watched hundreds of films or read a lot of books is a status marker showing you have an attention span.

This is quite a comment from someone who served on the FOMC for nearly four years with Kevin Warsh. He says Warsh failed to project independence at his hearing.
The Fed Chair hearing did not help the perception of a tainted chair selection process. The unwillingness to disagree with the administration on any policies or who won the 2020 election did not project independence. There will be work to counter the sock puppet analogy image.

🔹9-10 mars : « The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully » / « Iran war will 'end soon' ». 🔹11 mars : Il affirme que la guerre finira « soon » car « practically nothing left to target » et « any time I want it to end, it will end ». 🔹24 mars : La guerre est « nearing its end ». 🔹28 mars : « War will be over soon ». 🔹31 mars : Il évoque une fin dans « two to three weeks ». 🔹1er avril (discours à la nation) : Les objectifs sont « nearing completion », la guerre finira « shortly, very shortly » / « very fast » / « in two or three weeks ». 🔹Début avril : Il répète qu'on est « very close » à la fin, « on the cusp », ou qu'il sentira la fin « in my bones ». 🔹Mi-avril 2026 (récemment) : Il affirme encore que la guerre est « very close to being over ». ➡️Plus d'une douzaine de fois de manière explicite, et bien plus si on compte les variantes implicites (« we're getting very close », « we'll be out pretty quickly », etc.).

But offering too much forward guidance in an uncertain world risks conveying a false sense of certainty, reducing rather than improving transparency, and making it harder for the public to clearly predict how the FOMC will react.

President Trump posted jobs figures on Truth Social at 8:20 pm on Thursday night (after CEA would have had the December jobs report but before BLS released them publicly on Friday morning) that add up if you had access to the not-yet-public figures for Dec (plus revisions).
Was NFP Jobs report already leaked in public forum before its release? Yesterday Trump tweeted this image and I was scratching my head for NFP numbers as it wasn't adding up in this year and now post release if you would identify the mathematics is adding up :) #USA #trump

We follow 51 central banks in the world: December was the 25th month in a row with more cuts than hikes. And the pace of cuts tends to accelerate.
