So many things are out of kids’ control— uncomfy clothes, loud noises, icky food, confusing rules…
As an adult, I make my own choices.
I wear, eat, and do what I like, because if I don’t, I get overloaded.
That’s why I don’t remind you of your 8-year-old autistic nephew.
I will die on this hill:
An ADHD diagnosis is absolutely useless if you don't have an appropriate support system.
Too often, people are diagnosed with ADHD & are left to ask themselves "now what?"
A diagnosis is not a fix. Support & knowledge, on the other hand, go a long way.
Sometimes I hear arguments about how humans are "wired" to prefer healthy, nondisabled ppl and, as someone who uses mobility aids, I can confidently state that, no, humans are wired to be curious little primates until their mortified parents intervene.
