We’ve got some good news to start the month! We just secured a Nigerian banking license. 🇳🇬🔥 This changes the game for us. We're no longer building on top of the financial system; more than ever, we're now operating inside it. Faster settlement. Direct rails. Greater control over how money moves at every layer of the stack. flutterwave.com/us/blog/owni… For 10 years, we've been the infrastructure layer for Africa's digital economy. This license means we can now own more of the critical path, from payment initiation to account management, payouts, FX, and beyond, in one unified platform. The next decade of building starts here. 🚀 Learn more about this exciting news here ➡️ flutterwave.com/ng/bank

We just published something that might save you a lot of stress during peak sales. If you’ve ever had traffic spike and suddenly your checkout starts failing right when people are trying to pay, you already know how painful that can be. It’s usually not one big issue, just a bunch of small things that weren’t ready for scale. So we put together a simple 5-step guide on how to prep your checkout for high traffic days like Black Friday, flash sales, or even that one campaign that unexpectedly goes viral. It covers things like choosing the right checkout flow, using faster payment methods, properly testing your setup, handling retries without double charges, and making sure your backend can actually keep up. 👉 dev.to/flutterwaveeng/5-step…

Today is a special day at Flutterwave as we celebrate the birthday of our Founder and CEO, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola (@TechProd_Arch), whose vision set this journey in motion. Over the years, the world has watched Flutterwave grow into a force powering payments for businesses across Africa, building products that simplify how money moves, and connecting African businesses to a global stage. But the truth is, these wins did not happen by chance. Every milestone was shaped by resilience, and the unwavering belief of a leader who knew, long before it was obvious, that Africa deserves world-class financial infrastructure. Today, we celebrate the man behind the mission, the progress of the last decade, and the even greater milestones that lie ahead. Happy Birthday, GB. With love and gratitude from all of us at Flutterwave 💙

If you've integrated with Flutterwave before, the v4 onboarding experience will feel noticeably different from the moment you sign up. The biggest change is that the sandbox is now completely separate from the live environment. You no longer need to complete business verification to start testing. Sign up, get your credentials, and build. The compliance process comes later, when it actually makes sense. Authentication has also moved from static API keys to OAuth 2.0, which issues access tokens with expiration dates. And error responses have been reworked to actually describe what went wrong and how to resolve it, something that was a real pain point in v3. @FlutterwaveEng's team published a practical guide walking through all of this, including a full Transfer Orchestrator example that shows the v4 API in action. Link to the full article is in the comments.

• why success ≠ settled funds
• push vs pull rails
• how rails show up in APIs, webhooks, and transaction states If you build payment systems, this will save you a lot of confusion. Read here 👇 dev.to/flutterwaveeng/what-a…

One of the most confusing things in payments: Your API returns 200 OK
Your webhook fires
Everything looks successful …but the money hasn’t actually moved yet. That’s because payments run on different rails, each with its own timelines and rules. We wrote a guide for developers 🧵
