We have learned that information has been shared online regarding alert messages that are only to be shared internally. The purpose of these messages is to ready our staff and close partners in the event of a potential issue or event at the airport that may necessitate the activation of our emergency operations centre (EOC). Earlier today there was a non-credible threat made against the airport. The alerting software provides a pre-scripted message to our staff on the nature of the concern. These messages are not intended for the public and should not have been published online. We want to assure those coming to YQR today that there was no event and the airport’s operations are normal. As per their protocol, RPS takes these threats very seriously and will be investigating further.

🌻The sunflower is on the move.🌻 To kick off National AccessAbility Week, we’re joining airports across Canada in passing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognized program that helps people with non-visible disabilities discreetly signal that they may need extra time, support, or understanding as they move through an airport.

It was an exciting day in Regina! I was pleased to explore mutually-beneficial economic opportunities for Saskatchewan and the Dominican Republic with Ambassador @JoseBlanco. We visited the Global Transportation Hub and the @UofRegina and met with representatives from @MosaicCompany and @FlyYQR. I would particularly like to thank @wkaeding for introducing the two of us at Saskatchewan's Legislative Assembly.

Can you help us give @FlyYQR's (newly promoted) Director of Human Resources & Culture, Tiara Lupanko, the BIGGEST round of applause for being named one of @ABToday's 2025 #40under40?! 👏👏👏 The 2025 list of honourees is filled with innovative, courageous, strong, intelligent and industry-shaping aviation professionals. ✈️ "In just three years with the Regina Airport Authority, Tiara Lupanko has redefined what modern HR leadership looks like within aviation. As Director of Human Resources, she has rebuilt trust, revitalized engagement, and embedded a people-first culture across the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, Lupanko has provided strategic guidance on key initiatives while ensuring employees feel heard, valued, and supported. Lupanko led a full overhaul of the Authority’s HR program, implementing a new pay equity plan, overhauling union classifications, and negotiating a six-year collective bargaining agreement. She also launched an employee recognition program and developed recurring staff events and engagement surveys that have delivered results well above expectations. Her work has elevated morale, strengthened collaboration, and established a renewed sense of shared purpose across the airport community. Motivated by a desire to foster positive, inclusive workplaces, Lupanko’s passion for people stems from her own early experiences in challenging environments. She is deeply committed to ensuring employees feel proud and excited to come to work each day. “Our people are the heart of everything we do,” she says. “When they thrive, the entire operation performs at its best.” An active participant in industry events and a strong advocate for employee wellness, Lupanko continues to inspire others—especially women pursuing leadership roles in aviation—through her authenticity, empathy, and dedication to building stronger teams." —Joe Petrie, Editor & Chief, Aviation Business Read the full article and view the list of other honourees when you sign up for free: bit.ly/4qghXdg
