I turned a new leaf with Danny Briere after last season.
However, if he trades for an overpaid and horrific Darnell Nurse, I’m flipping that leaf back over.

If there’s anything to learn from the Briere era:
its if there’s a rumor that a player is connected to the Flyers (MacTavish, Beniers, Carlson, etc), chances are it’s a smokescreen and they’re really going after someone else.
Danny doesn’t let his real moves leak.

It was noteworthy that the team leaders went heavy on Matvei Michkov support when asked about him.
Pretty clear they're all still committed to making the Michkov/Flyers relationship work. If there's any frustration behind closed doors, they made sure not to show it. That's big.

Flyers shouldn’t be mad at all how ever this series went. The Penguins laid an egg and they took advantage. But the fact is even with Tippett they had no chance against Carolina. The biggest mistake they can do is abandoning the process next year . Foundation is almost there 👍

I’ve supported Tocchet all year but health bombing Michkov this game is crazy.

Outside of the powerplay, i don’t think you can overreact and really blame Rick Tocchet for anything.
Ultimately, he’s not the one over-passing, failing to make one on one plays, not shooting the puck in the slot, taking bad penalties or losing boards battles.

It’s weird how little attention Carolina is getting for this run. Maybe because the Metro wasn’t that good this year. But 7-0 in the playoffs is still 7-0. Really impressive.
Having said that, I still think the winner of Montreal-Buffalo can give them a real test.

Flyers are right there, just not there yet.
Ran into the best team in the east, hung with them fairly well. Didn’t score on our chances, they scored every good chance they had.
Just ran out of steam after playing playoff hockey for 2 months.
