These are my photos from the 1974 World Cup game in Frankfurt for Scotland v Brazil. Just wondered if anyone recognises themselves or others?

On a day of memories, in 1974 I was lucky enough to travel to Frankfurt to see Scotland play Brazil in the World Cup. I sold bingo tickets as a Leeds United agent which as well as giving me a complimentary ticket for home games, also meant I sold a winning ticket.

Another privilege of following Leeds United for over 60 years. Newspaper articles from the Goole Times and Selby Gazette and Herald plus my photos I took at the game. If only Billy's shot had gone on the inside of the post rather than outside.

Because of this, I went to the game as an agent as well as the winner of the ticket. We were taken by coach to Luton airport where we flew to the game. I was wearing my Leeds United dungarees with patches as well as my Leeds United scarves.

My mum and dad went to all the rounds Germany played in but didn't go to the final which we watched on the TV at home. The ticket stubbs and the World Cup Willie they brought back with them are still in my possession.

What I found was a club like no other, a fanbase with a passion that is truly unmatched, and a place that has shaped me into the goalkeeper and the man I am today.
I would like to thank all the coaching staff, medical staff and players who have been part of this journey. And also the people at the stadium and the training ground who have been amazing with me from day one to the last day.
After seven years, the time has come to take on a new challenge and step into a new chapter of my career. Leeds will never leave me. This city, this club, this shirt; it's part of who I am now and always will be.

The redevelopment of #LUFC's Elland Road is continuing.
The away fans sheltered tunnel is in the process of being demolished as well as a third of the Banqueting Suite now gone.
A reminder that the skeleton of the new stand will be built behind and over the top of the old West Stand.
Work is also being done on the dugouts and the pitch, in preparedness for next season.
The fixtures for the 2026-27 Premier League campaign will be released on Friday 19th June at 10am.

Timed the weather right to visit the trees today 7.6.26. Phillip's & Charlotte's trees are still tiny but growing. Mum & dad's tree & brother-in-law Terry's trees are really growing well. I'm so glad we managed to plant these trees as a constant reminder of our lost loved ones.

Before that we had a lovely carvery at Drax Sports & Social Club and then I had a trip down memory lane in Carlton with Karin, then with Erica around, Drax, Newland then back through Carlton to Camblesforth.
