Making a positive contribution to the food allergy community I Two kids with 8 food allergies, Anaphylaxis & Asthma I All views are my own #FoodAllergy
I don’t think people realise the amount of effort and planning anaphylaxis requires. This is 4 days of food for my son’s school trip. It’s taken a week to prepare, test and organise. And now the worry can really begin. Who understands? #anaphylaxis#foodallergies
Tomorrow we will be celebrating the second anniversary of Natasha’s Law, but there is also so much more to do to ensure people living with food allergies and their families can lead safer and more fulfilling lives.

#anaphylaxis and careful asthma control go hand in hand. We have found our kid with #foodallergies gets sicker for longer and things can go bad really fast - with frequent trips to A&E for ‘just a cold’.. Good asthma control has been essential. How do you cope?
There needs to be more awareness that anaphylaxis and food allergies are so much more than what you ingest. It’s what you touch, what others touch, what you breathe, what’s in your vicinity… it’s mental as well as physical…. It’s every area of life. #anaphylaxis
Our son’s school continues to discriminate against #anaphylaxis. This year they’ve refuse to take him on 2 school trips and they are now continuing to insist that he cannot have his mobile phone on him during school hours (he is 15). Things are going backwards not forwards.
Allergy parents! My son’s school has just announced that all phones will be locked from 8am to 3.30pm using Yondr. Am really worried about my anaphylactic 15yr old son’s safety. Does anyone have experience of this or any advice? Help!
This years school trip genius: 5 days on the coast trawling for shellfish and seaweed, grinding up bugs to make bug burgers (!) and all whilst in a wetsuit with no chance to carry your epipen. Oh and did I mention my son is anaphylactic to shellfish and molluscs? Great!
Don’t mess with allergy mums! Just made breakfast, packed lunch and packed dinner for my kid - all before 7.30am! He has after school rehearsals and food allergies won’t stop him doing anything he wants to do in life #foodallergies#anaphylaxis
The allergy community do not make this plea ‘on the ground’ where we can get off the bus, leave the train carriage, remove ourselves from danger. We make this ONE simple request in a situation where we are ‘captive’ and our ability to mitigate our risk is removed. #anaphylaxis
The biggest risk when flying with ANY #foodallergy is past contamination & messy human eating habits- people shell nuts in #airline seats- being able to preboard (& yes #foodallergy is a #disability under the ACAA) clean & alert those around mitigates the risk-SIMPLE ASK
Very impressed with @FrancoMancaPizz. Really great #foodallergy awareness and service. Plenty of menu choice for people with #foodallergies and delicious food. A new restaurant to add to the list! #anaphylaxis
There are ‘yes’ days and ‘no’ days with #fooallergies - ‘no’ days are when every packet you read contains something you can’t eat. Today was a ‘no’ day looking for biscuits… the saddest of all ‘no days’

🥱 So here we go again again (again). New movie playing allergic reactions for laffs. I think we’ll give Puss in Boots a swerve. I’m hoping this tired old schtick has a shelf life, but I’m losing count of the times a kids’ movie has included allergy as a comedy moment…
