The one thing missing on both sides of the spanking debate (especially the anti position) is the acknowledgement that any form of guidance/discipline/correction is going to hurt your child's feelings. Nobody likes to be told "No" and that's perfectly normal but if you think 1/

ineffectual for the most part and no longer partake) but it is an endorsement of people growing up and realizing that you're no better than somebody who finds it useful just because you've carved a special category of emotional distress out for yourself. 4/

It's deeply ironic but not at all surprising that the people who go on and on about emotional trauma and validation and all of these things (which I don't brush off entirely) are suddenly mum on the tears, tantrums, sullen looks etc that accompany discipline. Get over it.

Atheists have no claims about the existence of God and they're LOUD about it

It's funny all these commentors who say the kids have high IQ too. IQ is "quotient", dpeending on age. An 8-year old with an IQ of 100 has a mental age of 8. A 20-year-old with the same score has a mental age of 8-- and an IQ of (I will guess) 75.

It’s even more extreme than that. By my quick math, the average of 20-29 YO is shout 3.2 standard deviations higher than the average 8 YO.

It means that x cannot surmount y. It's literally impossible. Your turn.

Sorry but those are just words per you so it doesn't mean anything. This is the absolute last resort of the sophist and you pulled the ripcord on it.

Argument in my vicinity? I remove myself. Somebody seems unnaturally morose? Ask them if they want to talk about it.

Or: my wife is pissed at me. Find out why and hash it out. Another man is being physically aggressive - make sure I'm not going to be cornered and act to back him down. What I don't do is become paralyzed with indecision about what they'll think of me.

I think you've narrowed the scope a lot by pointing to non-verbal autistic people as evidence of the broader phenomena. Presumably they're being misinterpreted for many different reasons that don't necessarily relate to autism.

Atheists like to say that Christians are like chickens who upset the chessboard in lieu of playing the game of debate. Who's the fool here - the mindless bird or the guy hosting a tournament in a chicken coop?

We need to start calling Protestants "revolutionaries"

I acknowledged that.

Well I guess we're tied on that. You've asserted that they don't exist in a mind but haven't explained in what sense they do exist, only that they seem to do so independently.
