112 girls and young women in Kigali City and Kamonyi District now have a better chance to earn, save, and build a future.
On 28 April 2026, ForAfrika Rwanda, in partnership with WE-ACTx for Hope and with funding from Gesundes Afrika, marked the successful closure and handover of the one-year pilot project dubbed, “Empowering Adolescent and Young Women through Income Generating Activities.”
The project strengthened nine VSLA groups by improving savings, access to small loans, and opportunities for adolescent girls and young women to start or grow income-generating activities. Participants reported increased income and greater confidence in their ability to support themselves and contribute to their families.
Local authorities commended the project’s impact and committed to sustaining its outcomes through continued support and collaboration, ensuring that the progress made continues beyond the pilot phase.
Together, we are supporting young women to build skills, strengthen livelihoods, and be more resilient.
