Today, GOOD Mayoral Candidate Brett Herron and GOOD Councillors attended the Harrowing Testimonies event in Salt River, hosted by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC). South African activists shared firsthand accounts of being kidnapped and tortured by Israeli occupation forces.

The City of Cape Town must stop hiding behind its alleged Good Hope Centre auction review process, swallow its pride, cancel the ridiculously inappropriate sale, pay whatever penalties are due, and publicly commit to using the precinct as a mixed-use development including affordable housing.

I’ve been fighting the crude, politically led, amendments to the Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law - as wrong & dangerous policy that offends against universal urban planning logic.
Incentivizing the redensification of the Cape Flats & township communities which are already the most densely populated in the City.
Last night the direct impact for the affected communities started to emerge just one year after the apartheid-mentality policy was adopted.
