While NAVYPODS is Navy/Royal Marines initiative, I’m told Army and RAF are keen to further understand utility of Healthcare solution and I hope this will only be the start. Much can be achieved through modularity and containerization to move past the time-consuming tents.

Within the Royal Navy Persistent Operational Deployable Systems (NavyPODS) programme, one area of particular interest is that of Healthcare. There is a clear requirement to have more medical capability forward, as widely distributed as a Navy which operates globally.

Obviously, the self-contained 006 007 combo has usefulness that goes well beyond shipboard use. They could just as easily be put on trucks and used ashore. Using containers fitted with suitable armour, they could offer a protected ROLE 2 capability that can move within 20 minutes
