Formtek CAD Transform Engine v2.1 is now available for Alfresco 7.x, and adds significant new features for MicroStation DGN.
The Formtek CAD Transform Engine (FTKCAD T-Engine) is a component of the Formtek Engineering Data Management (EDM) Solution, and provides custom transformers to convert CAD file content into high-fidelity vector PDF (preview), PNG (thumbnail), and JPG (image preview) formats for viewing in Alfresco. It also provides metadata extraction and embedding capabilities for CAD drawing formats. It can be used standalone, or with the Formtek EDM Module software. New MicroStation DGN capabilities in this release: • Text extraction for Solr indexing • Metadata extraction for storing values in mapped Alfresco properties • Reference extraction for reference management • Direct DGN-->PDF conversion for improved preservation of DGN data
