Another busy week for @Multi4More project with plot preparation, assessments of species composition, and plot harvesting. Also delighted to welcome Saisampath to the team!
Soil sampling after a successful harvest on the 6th of September at my rotations trial site in Arklow, Co. Wicklow investigating a range of bio-based fertilisers #teagasc#irishresearch#agriculture
A great day for the countryside. Glad for a bit of nice snap of harvest weather. 1530 getting it done again this year, somewhere around her 50th harvest.
Recent meeting and visit of UCD collaborators in @Multi4More to our #multi4more field site. We’re testing the relative effects of plant diversity and nitrogen fertiliser application on yield. One harvest remaining for first full year of data! 😁
The RENURE Operational Group aims to extract ammonium salts from manure as a substitute for chemical fertilisers. Field trials have shown promising results.

Delighted to be part of this study! My more general take-home from this study is that when we are being sold a product, demand evidence from independent research to show the effectiveness of the product *under field conditions*.
Manipulation of sward diversity is a more effective management strategy than addition of microbial inoculants in intensively managed grassland rdcu.be/dOSBG. New paper led by @IsraelIkoyi as part of the @MASTER_IA_H2020 project. Key findings

What's possible in the #bioeconomy? Great eg @GreenGenIreland producing biomethane gas to feed grid, produce electricity & heat, to run tractors & NPKS bio-based fertiliser, recycled plastic products all from recycled food waste & pkging & pig slurry. @MainstreamBIO@bbionets_eu
