It has been an incredible week so far! I've been honored to co-coach this year's AAP cohort for #GBSI2022 Collaborating with @fcpsaap staff was amazing and #FCPS has some unbelievably talented and enthusiastic incoming educators! The future holds great things for our students.

It was amazing to work with FHES teachers to engage in AAP curriculum today as part of our work around opportunity and access. We had fun!

Our #fhesfoxes were excited to stop by school this afternoon and find out who their teachers are.

Was so much fun to meet the new AARTs and connect with fellow mentors again! So excited for all the amazing work that is going to happen this year!

D2 #2021AAPSummerInstitute Today I'm participating in the M3 training with @FortHuntAAP. During these lessons students will learn to express themselves clearly and to share their reasoning. Implementing "Talk Moves" opens the discussion for student ownership. @The_Terrace_ES

One of the best parts of being a teacher is getting to be part if your students' lives outside of school. A former student invited me to a concert today and I even got to see another former Fort Hunt Fox perform!

I had SUCH a great time teaching @mrsloewenberg's 4th graders this morning! We got to work through reading skills using mythology in Jacob's Ladder, explore some creative writing, AND think critically about the role that location played in Jamestown's history. Absolute rockstars!

A LOT of reflection on learning and time to plan is on the agenda for the next few days. I have a million thoughts and ideas from @FCPSEquity's #FCPSCall2Action and now I need to put it together into something solid as I look at the upcoming school year. Amazing 2 days!
One of my fav things about #FCPSCall2Action is that all of the presenters also recognize this is a journey. I've been in sessions learning alongside so many who are presenting at other sessions. This is a lifelong process and we can ALL learn and grow.
