If Elon had been taxed on his unrealized gains neither tesla nor spacex would be nearly as successful, or may not exist at all today. And the hundreds of thousands of people they employ wouldn't have jobs. I'd rather people have jobs then some pay taxes.

Taxing unrealized gains doesn’t work. If I were taxed on what my company is worth instead of my actual income, I’d have to sell my company to afford the taxes.

I was sitting at a red light next to a brand new (paper plates still) BMW X5 competition, and I wondered how'd you'd EVer to decide to buy that car when you could have a model Y AND pay for 3 years of college for your kid in the back seat.
And don't give me luxury, there is nothing more luxurious then having a driver ready to go anytime day or night (FSD).

My wife had a deer run in front of her Tesla Model Y while on FSD 14.3.2. The car braked hard, going from 38 to 11, then continued on its way. Sure a human probably would have stopped too, but isn't it nice knowing the car is safe on its own?

I used to assume like 10% of the federal government spending was fraud. After see what DOGE uncovered and what we saw in CA and MN, I am certain it is at least 50% of the entire budget.

Holy smokes. Stephen Miller says he believes that the fraud and waste being uncovered by the Anti-Fraud Taskforce is so widespread, that dealing with it could balance the budget:
"This is the fastest in history that a government task force has traveled from creation to action."
"Fraud is every bit as bad as President Trump said it was, and even worse ... I believe from what I've seen, from what I've heard, that we could balance the federal budget if the only dollars that went out of the Treasury went to individuals who were properly, lawfully, correctly eligible."
If that's even 50% true, we owe it to the American people to not stop until every red cent of fraud is rooted out.
