Principles of Robot Motion! 📖 Another weekend, another free resource to upgrade your robot skills :) Principles of Robot Motion is a book on robot motion planning, covering theory, algorithms, and real implementations. The book makes mathematical complexity accessible by connecting low-level implementation details to high-level algorithmic concepts. Topics covered are motion planning, sensor-based planning, probabilistic planning, localization, mapping, and planning for dynamic and non-holonomic systems. What stands out is that it treats motion planning not as an isolated problem but as something applicable across domains. The techniques transfer to circuit board routing, computer graphics, robot-assisted surgery, drug design, and protein folding. This reflects advances from the last 10 years in the field. Each chapter builds on previous ones, and the mathematical derivations are quite detailed. Good starting point for an aspiring roboticist! My talk at MIT, on "Agentic AI systems: from scruffy to neat", is now available. I cover 3 examples of agentic systems - Bayesian linguistic forecaster, autoharness, and code world models - which combine LLMs, code and planners in different ways. Links below.

One professor at the University of Bonn quietly put his entire robotics curriculum on YouTube: SLAM. Sensor fusion. State estimation. Probabilistic robotics. Self-driving cars. Motion planning. Photogrammetry. Cyrill Stachniss has been uploading full university lectures for years! Each topic is a complete playlist; the kind of material that normally costs a semester of tuition. He's one of the most cited researchers in mobile robotics and mapping. His students go on to build the navigation stacks powering real autonomous systems. If you're serious about understanding how robots know where they are... this is the place to start. Free. On YouTube. 📌 [youtube.com/@CyrillStachniss] —— Weekly robotics and AI insights. A good example of predictive AI from the Waymo Driver: in a split second, it predicted an initial crash of human-driven cars in the next lane, anticipated a secondary collision, and proactively shifted lanes — all while  managing its distance from the vehicles around it.

This is crazy ... when a geek is bored, then you get this type of creativity. 😀
Had Claude Fable 5 log network packets and display them as cars on a highway, different car types = different packet types

There has never been a better time in human history to start a business than right now. Today, you can launch a business in days.Get your first paying customers in weeks. Raise funding from accelerators and investors. And for some immigrants, entrepreneurship can even open new visa pathways. Yet thousands of talented Africans in America are sitting on ideas they'll never pursue. Not because they can't. Because they don't know where to start. Are you a Nurse, doctor, consultant, lawyer or work in tech in the US? This is for you. That's why I'm hosting a free webinar for African professionals in the U.S. who want to build something of their own while keeping their jobs. If you've ever dreamed of creating a business, generating another source of income, or building something that outlives your career, this is for you. Visit: adewaleyusuf.com/atlas Seats are limited.
