Pay attention to the nuance of akrevia and economia. God desires to save all.
I think the difficulty here is that Glen did not account for my argument that God desires the salvation of all men vs only the salvation of Christians. Orthodoxy is often stricter than other churches in its normativity but also trusts that God desperately desires to save all. It is not only God that desires this but the Saints. This is beautifully rendered in the story told by St Sophrony about St Silouan the Athonite. “I remember a conversation between him [St Silouan the Athonite] and a certain hermit, who declared with evident satisfaction, ‘God will punish all atheists. They will burn in everlasting fire.’ Obviously upset, the Staretz said: ‘Tell me, supposing you went to paradise and there looked down and saw somebody burning in hell-fire – would you feel happy?’ ‘It can’t be helped. It would be their own fault,’ said the hermit. The Staretz answered him with a sorrowful countenance: ‘Love could not bear that,’ he said. ‘We must pray for all.”

There is bad debt that enslaves the flesh to its worst impulses, and good debt that lets the Spirit make the flesh what God created it to be. Good Debt open.substack.com/pub/frbarn…

All this "debate" online, and oh-so-sure "apologetics," is one of the reasons I found my Protestant and Pentecostal background so shallow. Always "debating" about who's "right." Turns out we're ALL WRONG! Repent!

This is what I'm talking about, dear ones. This silly post is rage-bait! x.com/AL_J82/status/20666799…

The average protestant knows more about and can articulate the gospel better than the average Roman Catholic or Orthodox. Especially more than those who just converted from Protestantism.

My dear Orthodox, if you continue to engage with these click-hungry folks who bait you into engaging with them so they can grow their "audience" as an "influencer," you wound yourself AND them. Wise as serpents, harmless as doves!

The greatest danger of secularism is not that it openly rejects God. Its greater danger is that it allows us to keep religion while quietly removing God from daily life.

Sad to see someone who is so inexperienced with Southern hospitality. Of course,I’ve known some simply incapable of receiving hospitality.
USA Today crazy left wing sportswriter Christine Brennan says she’s surprised the South is welcoming a German tourist here for the World Cup. Has Brennan ever actually been to the South before? It’s the kindest place in the country, maybe the world.
