Meeting with Refugee-Led Organizations in Italy, I was inspired by their leadership, energy and deep commitment to supporting their communities alongside local institutions.   They bring trust, experience, and vital expertise. They must be able to count on support and resources.

High Commissioner @FilippoGrandi in Syria: “The moment is positive… but Syrians face huge challenges.” Despite immense hurdles and difficult living conditions, displaced Syrians are returning home with high hopes and a lot of determination.

Sudan’s humanitarian crisis is worsening. Attacks on hospitals & displacement continue, leaving millions without care or safety. @UNHCR is delivering life-saving aid & protection. Urgent action is needed.

For my generation, at one time #AIDS was a global scare. Science and prevention made a huge difference but #HIV is still a threat, especially for marginalized communities. We don’t lower the guard. We keep fighting against infections and discrimination. #WorldAidsDay @UNAIDS

I’ve just arrived in Syria where over 540,000 people fleeing Israeli air strikes in Lebanon have crossed in the last 7 weeks. Our joint UN teams have been responding from the onset. I’ll be meeting with Syrian returnees & Lebanese refugees to better understand their needs.

A sad milestone reached this week, more than 3 million people forced to flee #Sudan due to the war and violence.

Investment and partnership makes things growing for refugees and local communities!

Just landed in Chad, which has opened its doors to over 1.2M refugees. Half have arrived in the last 17 months since Sudan's horrific conflict began. I'll be meeting with displaced families, host communities, and overstretched humanitarians working to deliver life-saving aid.

'The concept of humanity is under siege.' Collective NGO statement at @Refugees 75th #ExCom in Geneva marks a milestone as it is the first ever drafted and delivered by a refugee-led organisation. The statement calls for urgent actions: ➡️Prioritise saving lives and ensure access to protection and essential services. ➡️All stakeholders must address public backlash against forcibly displaced and stateless persons. ➡️We must continue to recognise the importance of meaningful refugee participation as a tool to enhance refugee responses. #NansenAward ceremony made us feel that, even in a such troubled world, humanity is still alive and is giving us hope. 5 amazing women, that everyday fight for a better society and an honorable mention to the people of Moldova 🇲🇩 for their solidarity to refugees.

A great day at the #UnityEUROCup in Switzerland.   Together with @UEFA we brought teams of refugee & host community players from all over Europe, to show the power of sport for inclusion and hope.   The language of sport is universal and helps communities to embrace diversity.
