The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

World Cup referee denied entry to the United States
He was set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at a FIFA World Cup.
Somali referee Omar Artan was expected to spend the summer officiating matches at the FIFA World Cup.
Artan was denied entry at Miami International Airport on Monday when he attempted to enter the United States, even though, according to Somalia’s Ministry of Sports, he possessed a valid visa.
Late Monday evening, FIFA informed AFP that the referee would not participate in the tournament.
“FIFA can confirm that referee Omar Artan will be unable to train and officiate at the 2026 World Cup after being denied entry to the United States,” a FIFA spokesperson said.
Following the denial, the referee flew back to Istanbul, where he had been staying prior to his departure.
Omar Artan has been a FIFA referee since 2018 and is the first Somali referee ever appointed to officiate at a FIFA World Cup.
