This.
Getting sober is the launch pad that allows us the opportunity to change ourselves and is a wonderful (dare I say it?) first step. Intentionally re-creating your life and getting to a place where addiction is no longer a concern or issue ... priceless. #RecoveryPosse

Some people will inform you that how you feel isn’t real because they don’t feel it is. They won’t have any personal experience, but if they feel a certain way, then it means it’s gospel for everyone else. Remember, you weren’t prescribed their BS, so don’t take it.

Are you a Christian struggling with addiction? You are NOT alone. You are NOT less spiritual. You do NOT love Jesus less. You are NOT broken.

If I could offer anyone anything as they head into a sober life, it would be to keep your eyes fixed on the future. I’ve spend too much time thinking about my past. I was encouraged to do so in the method I used to quit drinking. Found myself pulled into struggle simply because everyone else seemed to be talking about struggles. My advice? Do the work, yes, but move on and live this great life of yours. Forgive yourself as gracefully and as quickly as you do others. You’re a new thing as a sober person. You’re worth it. Life is short. Live it well. Live it up!

It's funny how many people post or write every day about their sober journey in the beginning. Then at some point they taper off a bit. Why? My theory is because they’re living their life now without the thoughts of consuming and quitting alcohol on their mind. In the beginning NOT drinking can be all-consuming, almost as consuming as drinking had been. But eventually you move on. Thinking about drinking or not drinking doesn't guide your day anymore. At some point, you rarely think about it at all. We don't ever forget where we came from. There's risk in forgetting, but we also don't sit with those thoughts 24-7 anymore. And so the desire to keep talking about it fades. It's exciting to get to the point when you’re free from the chains of alcohol. Don't you think?

Wait. STOP! Answer this question. How do you feel about yourself in this moment? For me, I feel I’m in a good position to work hard and keep pushing. It’ll all work out.

As we navigate the complexities of recovery, remember to be kind to yourself. Healing is not linear, and setbacks may happen. Embrace each moment with self-compassion and resilience. Your journey is unique, and you're doing the best you can
