I’m not a tech person so maybe this is dumb but isnt it easier to create a “children’s phone” at point of sale so you get a phone with built-in restrictions rather than asking every single person in the country whether they are over 16 or not through hackable digital ID software?

BREAKING: We're suing the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service over their plan to give away 715 acres of a public wildlife refuge to billionaire corporation Space X. We shouldn't be sacrificing our cherished public lands to subsidize a company owned by the richest man in the world.

Donate $400-million. Get antitrust and other government investigations stopped by the Trump administration and then get $50-Billion in government contracts. That is some ROI. Where the American taxpayer is funding the "returns."
This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it. More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months. And here’s the part that should make your blood boil. Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence. The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it. Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price. We either end the corruption, or the corruption will end us. wapo.st/3QmJjSz

The propaganda has begun lol. The pro AI camp cannot fathom that people who are very capable of writing all on their own still exist, and that their thieving machine took from these capable people in an attempt to pretend said machine was capable of the same. It isn't

Absolute babies. I've been blocked lol hence the screenshot. It's not brain dead to say adults have agency and responsibility. As I said elsewhere, angel 😇 takes are as made up, unfair, and lacking in nuance as devil 😈 takes.

Right, no one knows, including you, so you have to consider the *possibility* that are complicit in this, instead of lil helpless angel baby sock puppets for HxG. Not saying they ARE complicit, but it's definitely possible because, as you say, none of us knows what's happening.

I've seen, "They can't win, so why should they say her name and pull focus?" 1) With no change in Manon's official hiatus status, the elephant is ALWAYS in the room. 2)If they can't win, then go with the ETHICAL choice to acknowledge the SIX that recorded and performed "Gnarly."

Like, stop pretending the AMA issue is about accusations of "mean girls" or "evil corp" crap. It's actually unethical to accept Video of the Year and not acknowledge all who appeared in it. That's all. I truly think less of any and all from Bang to commenters who think it's OK.

Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it. Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying. Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence." Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility." Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
SAM ALTMAN: “WE SEE A FUTURE WHERE INTELLIGENCE IS A UTILITY, LIKE ELECTRICITY OR WATER, AND PEOPLE BUY IT FROM US ON A METER.”
